How to Make a Moscow Mule
A Moscow Mule is a cocktail that is made with vodka, ginger beer, and lime. Ginger beer is just an infusion of ginger, water, sugar, and lime. This cocktail is a bit spicy and sour but refreshing.

Pick a Collins glass. It's a tall, straight glass. It's similar to a highball glass but taller.

Place the ice into the glass. Do not overfill with ice. Fill it about halfway up with ice.

Squeeze in the lime. Once you've squeezed the lime juice into the glass, add the rind in too.

Pour in the vodka. Measure out and pour in the vodka.

Add the ginger beer. The ginger beer should be cold. You can make your own ginger beer using the recipe in this article.

Garnish with a wedge of lime. Cut a small slit in the pulp of the lime, and add it to the side of the glass.

Add a swizzle stick. Serve immediately.

Making Homemade Ginger Beer

Grate ginger. Start with 4 ounces of ginger. Peel the edges, and then grate it finely.

Boil water. Measure out 1 US-quart (950 ml) of water.

Mix in ginger and lime. Add the grated ginger to the water. Squeeze in 1/2 an ounce of lime juice. Put a lid on the pot, and leave it alone for about an hour.

Mix in brown sugar. Add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar.

Strain the beer. Use a strainer to strain the pulp from the ginger and lime. Squeeze the ginger pulp thoroughly to make sure you release all the flavor.

Place in an airtight container and refrigerate. You can keep it in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks, though it is more potent right after you make it.
