Putting Together Your Outfit

Find a pleated skirt. No matter the colour, if you are dressing like a cheerleader you will need a pleated skirt. You may want to choose a dark colour, or if you are depicting a gory death, a bloodstained skirt. You can either do this yourself with dye or fake blood, or you can buy one from Halloween stores.

Wear a tank top or halter/ tube top. This can match your skirt and also be bloodstained. You can also try making your own: cut the bottom part of a t-shirt or singlet off up to about the ribs. Or, if you don't want to wreck it, you can roll it up or tie a knot. if you want a sleeve/ strapless top, cut the sleeves off as well. If you can't find a tank top, wear a t- shirt or tight sweater. Add school logos or team logos for sports like football or basketball.

Stick with athletic footwear. Find some short, white ankle socks.Wear a pair of tennis shoes or sneakers to complement the outfit. If you can't find shoes in a matching colour, some plain white ones will do. Again, these can be bloodstained in the same way as your shirt and skirt.

Find some streamers or cheerleader pom-poms. These can match your outfit or be different. If you want to make yours, tie some coloured streamers together and cut them so they stay upright and don't fall down. You can also attach a handle on the end.
Doing Your Hair and Makeup

Pull your hair back in a high ponytail or two pigtails. Whether your hair is straight or curly, it won't change the effect as you see both styles on the field or on the court.

Keep your makeup in theme. Do a simple foundation that matches your skin along with some plain red lipstick and eyeshadow that matches your team colours. You may also wish to use some face paint or eyeliner to write your team name on your cheeks, or you can do coloured warpaint with face paint.

Put a bit of fake blood on your face. Try to have it trickling from your mouth or in the outer corners of your eyes.
Acting Like a Dead Cheerleader

Walk slowly, or stagger. You may want to appear limp by dragging your arms or almost falling over. Imagine being drunk or injured. Cock your head to the side and open your mouth wide..

Cheer for your "team." Shouting something like "GO TEAM!" or "GIVE ME A [LETTER], GIVE ME A [LETTER]...." to spell your team's name will sound "encouraging," even though it's fake.

Act way overprotective of how you look. This is often how the stereotypical cheerleader is portrayed. If somebody insults your looks, turn away, act disgusted and leave the conversation.

Learn a few simple tricks or gymnastics. While you don't want to attempt anything too elaborate, something simple like a cartwheel will do. A cartwheel is when you start standing up, and then you flip yourself to the side, almost like a handstand but you rotate your body.
