Will Zack Snyder Make The Next James Bond Movie? Read On

Zack Snyder, the name behind popular movies such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, desires to make the next James Bond film. The filmmaker’s latest title, Rebel Moon, was released on Netflix and is getting rave reviews. In the latest interview, Zack said that he wants to take the character of James Bond back to his younger self and revisit the popular story.

In conversation with The Atlantic, Zack Snyder said, “It’d be cool to see, like, 20-year-old James Bond, the humble roots that he comes from. Whatever trauma of youth that makes you be able to be James Bond. There has to be something there.” The James Bond franchise has 25 films under its banner and is quite a hit among the audience so the idea of renowned filmmaker Zack taking forward the legacy seems to be a favourable idea.

Zack Snyder further said that he was done with his stint in superhero movies. Midday quoted the filmmaker as saying, “If my foray into superheroes starts with Watchmen and ends with Justice League, it marks pretty cleanly that era for me. You could use those two movies as the bookends of what I would consider its commercial freakshow peak. There could be another giant hit, who knows? For me, I’d moved out of those movies quite naturally.”

The filmmaker’s latest film, Rebel Moon Part One – A Child Of Fire is receiving critical acclamation. He stated that the plot of the film is inspired from a number of sci-fi films he grew up watching. He told Hindustan Times, “That’s why Rebel Moon is a love letter to those fantasies, sci-fi blockbusters that they were making without abandon. Those were new, original things. You didn’t know they’d be coming. Aliens was just that. Where you just go and get your mind blown.”

The premise of the film, co-written by Snyder, Shay Hatten, and Kurt Johnstad, revolves around a young woman, played by Sofia Boutella, tasked with enlisting troops to defend against an impending invasion headed by the dictatorial ruler Regent Balisarius, played by Fra Fee. The ensemble cast includes Charlie Hunnam, Jena Malone, Corey Stoll, Cleopatra Coleman, and Cary Elwes, among other talented actors. Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver is expected to release on Netflix on April 19 next year.
