The buzz surrounding the 2024 Oscars has been running high in recent days. Being held at the Dolby Theatre in the heart of Hollywood, Los Angeles, the stage is set for a night of glitz and glamour. The Barbie star went full-on Ken mode to perform I’m Just Ken at the Oscars stage.

Ryan Gosling sang the Oscar-nominated song with 65 other “Kens”, guitarist Slash and musician Mark Ronson. The eagerly awaited performance began with Ryan Gosling serenading his co-star Margot Robbie from the audience before taking to the stage, where he was joined by a star-studded lineup including Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ncuti Gatwa and others. The energy soared as Ryan Gosling seamlessly made his way back to the audience, where he was joined by Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, singing along with him.

Ryan Gosling even took a moment to pause near his former La La Land co-star Emma Stone and handed her the mic so she could join him in singing the lyrics. Undoubtedly, the performance was a highlight of the evening at the Dolby Theatre. The audience including Steven Spielberg rose in a standing ovation to applaud Ryan Gosling’s super-energetic performance.

Before the Oscar nominations were announced, in January, Ryan Gosling addressed the possibility of singing I’m Just Ken at the prestigious event in an interview with W magazine. “Well, I haven’t been invited (to the ceremony),” he mentioned.

“And I wasn’t thinking about it until now, and now it’s all I’m going to think about. Do you get paid to sing at the Oscars? Do you have to drive yourself? What kind of scratch is involved? They pick you up at least, right?” he had added.

Meanwhile, Ryan Gosling was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in Barbie at the Oscars 2024. Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster film earned 8 Academy Award nominations this year, including Best Picture.
