Fans have been eagerly anticipating the return of House of the Dragon for its second season. Set to premiere in summer 2024, the upcoming season promises to delve deeper into the Targaryen saga, specifically focusing on the events of the Dance of the Dragons. As excitement builds, makers have heightened anticipation by releasing a new set of posters, inviting fans to pick sides.
On Wednesday, the makers of House of the Dragon shared a couple of new posters while also hinting that the much-awaited trailer for the second season will be out “tomorrow,” i.e., Thursday, 21 March. The posters come with an interesting message that reads “All Must Choose.” The makers also used hashtags “Team Black” and “Team Green”. The second season will stream on JioCinema in India.

Speaking of the posters, they give a close view of the key characters from the show. From Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower and Emma D’Arcy as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen taking center stage in the posters, to Alicent representing ‘green’ and Emma representing ‘black’, the posters have got fans all excited for the trailer now.
In the meantime, as fans get more excited for the trailer, they were seen picking sides already. A fan wrote, “This is gonna be a cultural reset,” while another wrote, “None book readers have no idea what’s coming…”
The upcoming season of House of the Dragon will include eight episodes, marking a slight drop from the 10-episode first season. It was also recently confirmed that the show will debut on HBO and Max in June 2024.
Season 2 will pick up the story from George RR Martin’s Fire and Blood, creating the ground for heightened conflicts, betrayals, and bloodshed. Speaking about its cast, besides some minor changes, familiar faces like Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Darcy as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, Rhys Ifans as Ser Otto Hightower, Olivia Cooke as Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower, Graham McTavish as Ser Harrold Westerling, and Matthew Needham as Lord Larys Strong, among others, will be seen reprising their roles.
