Red Bull Test Driver Issues Bold Prediction Ahead Of New Season
Red Bull simulator driver, Jake Dennis, suggested that Max Verstappen’s machine for the upcoming season is going to be a beast. As a result, competitors including Ferrari and Mercedes must not get their hopes high for a potential title win in 2024.

Red Bull simulator driver Jake Dennis has made a bold prediction ahead of next season’s competition. Jake is a Formula E champion who is currently helping Red Bull to develop their new 2024 RB20 car.

The simulator driver told the Mirror that Max Verstappen’s machine for the upcoming season is going to be a beast. As a result, competitors including Ferrari and Mercedes must not get their hopes high for a potential title win in 2024.

While speaking about the RB20 car, Jake said, “We’ve got an extremely fast race car again at the Red Bull team.” He then made a bold claim saying, “I think it’s going to be quite a dull season in Formula 1 with Max probably dominating”.

Red Bull was unstoppable in the previous season, winning 21 of the 22 races held last year. Max Verstappen won 19 of those 21 races while setting innumerable records. Their RB19 machine was far superior compared to the rest of the competition. Jake Dennis even stated that his team would likely be crowned champions again unless teams like Mercedes or Ferrari figure out something overnight. “I would expect us to become champions again unless someone like Ferarri or Mercedes somehow manages to find about a second [per lap] overnight.”

Red Bull’s dominance in the 2023 season allowed them to focus on further improvement of their future race cars. They got to the development of the RB20 right away to stay ahead of their rivals. Jake Dennis also spoke about Red Bull’s preparation for the 2024 season. He said, “I’d be lying if I said we didn’t switch our attention to the 2024 quite quickly. We didn’t do any development on the 2023 car after Singapore.”

The race that Jake Dennis was talking about, took place back in September last year. The season still had seven more races left at that point but Red Bull did not bother to make improvements on their car. Instead, they shifted their focus to the next season by putting a good chunk of development resources into the RB20.

Given the situation, Red Bull’s rivals are on the verge of facing another season of being unable to bring the fight to the current champions. Jake Dennis has been with the Red Bull since 2018 as a development driver. He will himself be looking to defend his Formula E title this year.
