London: West Ham has warned its fans they will be banned from matches if they are involved in anti-semitic abuse during the London derby against Tottenham in the English Premier League on Sunday.

Last year's match at White Hart Lane was marred by West Ham fans performing Nazi salutes. Tottenham, which has a strong Jewish fan base, has been targeted by anti-Semitic insults for years.

West Ham said on Friday the club will implement its "zero-tolerance" policy and "any fan found to be acting inappropriately - including racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic behavior - will be punished to the full extent of the law and banned from attending matches."

Tottenham fans could also be arrested if they use the word "Yid" in their chants, although British Prime Minister David Cameron said last month they should be allowed to employ the term, which they use to describe themselves.
