Madrid: Real Madrid beat Osasuna 4-2 on Saturday in Jose Mourinho's last game before his expected return to the Premier League.
After the Santiago Bernabeu fans greeted Mourinho with a mix of applause and jeers, Gonzalo Higuain opened in the 35th minute before Michael Essien headed in Madrid's second goal three minutes later.
Osasuna rallied to draw level with goals from Roberto Torres and Alvaro Cejudo in the 52nd and 63rd, respectively, but Karim Benzema restored Madrid's lead for good in the 69th with Jose Callejon also scoring in the 87th.
Barcelona can cap their championship season by equaling Madrid's record of 100 points from last year by beating Malaga later.
The other eight games on the final day will determine remaining berths for European competition and the three relegated teams.
