Manchester United respect Barcelona: Vidic
Manchester United will not underestimate Barcelona in any way.

New Delhi: Nemanja Vidic has admitted that Manchester United will respect Champions League final opponents Barcelona, but is confident that his side can overcome them to win the trophy.

The Serbian defender, who has just won the Red Devils' Player of the Year honour, is relishing the challenge of stopping the best forward line in European football next week.

Having followed Barca's fortunes this term Vidic is well aware of their ability and believes United will not underestimate the Catalan outfit in any way as they look to find a way to stop them.

“They have so many very good players, especially up front,” Vidic is quoted as saying by Setanta.

“They scored so many goals this year. We respect them for that and we definitely have some work to do this week from that point of view, but, as well, we must concentrate on our game, to try and attack them and to see how they defend.

“I don’t think we are arrogant. We respect them as a team. Confidence, yes, we believe in ourselves. We won the league and we are in the final so why would we not believe in ourselves?

“But we respect them as well. We know it is going to be a hard game and we have a big job to do, but we are looking forward to it and we will try and win it.”
