New Delhi: The Reds' Argie middle-man is hoping to wrap up an interesting hat-trick this weekend, when he and his team-mates travel to Ashburton Grove.
Despite their recent dip in form - they have failed to win any of their last three domestic games at Anfield - Liverpool head into Sunday's clash with Arsenal as Premier League leaders.
While Rafael Benitez's men have occasionally struggled to break down smaller teams such as Hull City, Stoke City and Fulham, their record against their title rivals this season is superb - perfect, in fact.
In September the Reds claimed a 2-1 victory over Manchester United, courtesy of Ryan Babel's late winner. A month later, Xabi Alonso's deflected strike ended Chelsea's 86-game unbeaten run at Stamford Bridge.
The Gunners boast a similar record, having downed the Red Devils at the Emirates and beaten the Blues on their own turf, but Javier Mascherano is determined to topple the Londoners.
"We know it is going to be a very difficult game, but we are going there confident we can show our quality and win," he told Liverpool's official website.
"We have beaten Chelsea and Manchester United this season, but we have to remember Arsenal have done the same. I think they play much better against the top teams and so we know it will be a hard match. But if we play our football and use our heads then we can win the game."
Liverpool only drew against Hull City last weekend, but they held onto their one-point lead in league thanks to Chelsea's stumble against West Ham United.
But Mascherano said: "I don't think we should be thinking about the league table - the most important thing is just to win our games and then maybe look at the other contenders and hope they drop points.
"It's not very good if we drop points as well - we need to think about ourselves and then see what the other teams are doing."
