Moyes was handed a six-year contract to succeed Ferguson at United and his first Premier League match in charge comes against Swansea in four weeks' time.
London: Had he been given the task of choosing Manchester United's new manager, Rio Ferdinand says he would have followed the club's decision to pick David Moyes.
Moyes was handed a six-year contract to succeed Alex Ferguson at United and his first Premier League match in charge comes against Swansea in four weeks' time.
Ferdinand says, "He's young and has got the desire and appetite to be successful. After the manager we had, that was very much needed and he's someone I would have chosen if I was in a position to."
The defender adds: "He's not someone who is looking to come in for three or four years - he'd love to replicate what the (last) manager has done."
