New Delhi: The coach of Les Bleus believes that Gourcuff will prove Ancelotti wrong.
After two unsuccessful seasons at Milan, French midfielder Yoann Gourcuff was loaned to Girondins Bordeaux, where he exploded and is having a fantastic campaign.
The player has become a part of Raymond Domench's France national team squad and his coach has come to his defense after stinging words from Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti, who declared that "(Gourcuff) is a talented player, but mentally weak."
"When I first read Ancelotti's comments I was happy. A player who gets torn apart by his coach cannot help but become motivated," Domenech told So Foot.
"Gourcuff is 22-years-old and still improving, so what Ancelotti said is meaningless. It's a serious accusation, not to mention a dishonest one too.
"Ancelotti judged him during a time when he was not yet mature, but if Milan bought him he couldn't have been that bad."
Meanwhile, the coach continued to defend his decision to leave Juventus striker David Trezeguet out of the national team. "He doesn't retrieve balls," he concluded.
