Barcelona Midfielder Gavi in a New Bulked-up Look as He Recovers from ACL Injury: See Pic

Barcelona youngster Gavi has delighted fans with his new bulked-up look on social media. The 19-year-old is currently recovering from a torn ACL he sustained on international duty with Spain. The injury forced him to miss the entirety of the season, including the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024. Gavi has seemingly adopted an intense fitness regime in the ongoing recovery phase. He recently shared a photograph on Instagram where he can be seen performing some leg exercises. In the picture, Gavi looks like he has added some muscle as he hopes to return even stronger. A screenshot of the story was shared by a fan on the internet who suggested it was a Hansi Flick’s effect.

In the image, a shirtless Gavi is seen lifting some weights while on his knee. The Barcelona midfielder looked to be in some discomfort while performing the exercise. Fans recognised the hard work being put in by him in the recovery phase. One of them said that he couldn’t wait to see Gavi back in action. “Can’t wait to see you bro,” he wrote.

Another motivated the midfielder to continue working hard. “Work Hard Gavi,” he commented.

This fan hilariously compared the Spaniard to German midfielder Joshua Kimmich and wrote, “Kimmix.”

Gavi suffered the ACL injury in November last year during Spain’s European Championship qualifying game against Georgia. The Spanish midfielder had to be substituted in the first half of the game after experiencing discomfort in his right leg. He had taken a hard hit after colliding with a Georgia player. Despite being a part of the starting XI at the Estadio Municipal Jose Zorrilla in Valladolid, Gavi lasted only 26 minutes before succumbing to injury. Gavi twisted his knee awkwardly as he went down on the football field. He was reduced to tears as he limped off straight down the tunnel. Athletic Club’s Oihan Sancet replaced him in the match.

Gavi’s Barcelona teammates showcased massive support for the midfielder after his injury. The same night, Ferran Torres dedicated his goal to the Blaugrana youngster. He celebrated by holding Gavi’s shirt aloft to the crowd. Later, Pedri shared a post on Instagram as he thought about his teammate’s recovery. “We are with you brother! Much strength Gavi, I know you’ll become stronger than ever!”

In the last few years, Gavi has become a crucial addition to both Barcelona and Spain. He will now be looking to return to competitive football ahead of the 2024-25 season.
