The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) Tamil Nadu is set to commence the counselling process for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) today, July 22, 2024. Candidates can find the complete counselling schedule on the official portal, tneaonline.org. The TNEA counselling 2024 will involve several stages including registration, choice filling, seat allotment, seat acceptance, reporting to college/TFC, and fee payment.

TNEA Counselling 2024 Schedule

According to the schedule, the online counselling for the government (7.5 per cent) special reservation categories will be held till tomorrow, July 23. The counselling for the general special reservation category students will take place from July 25 to July 27.

The counselling for General Category students is scheduled from July 29 to September 3. Supplementary counselling will occur from September 6 to September 8, and counselling for SCA to SC will be conducted from September 10 to September 11.

The counselling process will be held online in three phases, with candidates participating in the rounds appropriate to their ranks. All the candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the TNEA Counselling 2024.

According to the DoTE’s counselling timetable, students who scored between 200 and 179 cut-off marks in the general category will participate in the first round of counselling, which will be held from July 29 to July 31 and the provisional allotment list will be released on August 10.

Candidates who scored between 178.9 to 142 will participate in the second round which is scheduled to take place from August 10 to August 12. The provisional allotment for Round 2 will be released on August 23. Lastly, the third and final round will be held from August 23 to August 28 for students with cut-off marks ranging from 141.9 to 77, with preliminary allotment made on September 4.

Students belonging to the special-reserved categories like Sportspersons, Children of ex-servicemen and differently-abled will undergo online counselling first.

The TNEA Counselling is conducted for students seeking admission to various BTech courses in Tamil Nadu based on the Class 12 merit of the candidate.
