Patna Law College Receives BCI Nod For 2024-25 Admissions
The Bar Council of India has permitted Patna Law College to enrol students from the new session 2024-25.

The admission bell has rung in Patna Law College under Patna University for the 2024-25 session. The Bar Council of India (BCI) approved the recognition of the LLB course at 115-year-old Patna Law College for a year (2024-25). It allows students to enrol in the present academic session. The admission process is going to start soon.

In an initiation to the university, the BCI said, “After consideration, extension of approval of affiliation has been granted to Patna Law College for imparting a three-year LLB course with intake of two sections of 60 students each for one academic year 2024-25.” According to the letter, the institution would be required to seek an extension of affiliation approval from the BCI after a year.

As per The Times of India, after getting the approval for admission from BCI, the college’s principal, Vani Bhushan, said that the college has requested the authorities to expedite the process of admission to the LLB course.

Let us tell you that on June 12, a five-member BCI team headed by Justice Mridula Mishra, Bihar State Bar Council chairman Rama Kant Sharma, senior advocate Sadhu Sharan Yadav, member S D Sharan and Prof. Padma Singh of National Law Institute University, Bhopal, had inspected the law college. Last year, BCI found many shortcomings but this time, the college has removed all the shortcomings. On June 16, a decision was taken to renew the extension at a meeting of the standing committee of the legal education committee of the BCI.

The college administration had put forth a demand before the BCI to increase the seats for admission. The BCI has given assurance on this. Let us tell you that during the inspection of the BCI last year, the number of seats could not be increased due to the election code of conduct, lack of cooperation from the state government in infrastructure, lack of teachers, lack of classrooms and not being able to deposit the fees to the BCI on time due to lack of funds in the college.
