The drowning of three students in the basement of Rau’s IAS Study Circle in Rajindernagar, Delhi, has shocked everyone. Two girls, Shreya Yadav and Tania Soni, are among the three students who died in the incident. Shreya Yadav was from Ambedkarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, and Tania Soni was from Aurangabad in Bihar. The third student has been identified as Navin Delvin.
The three died in the incident that took place on July 27 when water from a flooded drain gushed into the basement of the coaching centre where a library was set up. After this accident, the family members shared several things with the media.
The news of Shreya’s death due to water entering the basement of the coaching centre in Delhi shocked the family. Her mother, while crying, told the media that she had spoken to her daughter a day before the incident. She said that she misses all of them a lot. After asking about everyone’s well-being, Shreya said to her that she would return after fulfilling her dream. She will return only after becoming an IAS, but nobody knew that the news of her death would come suddenly like this. The family members said that they had never thought, even in their dreams, that their daughter, who had gone to become an IAS, would return like this.
The family of Tania Soni is also in a bad state after the loss of her daughter. Her father, Vijay Kumar, told the media that when he got this information, he was going to Lucknow. But after, he landed in Nagpur and came to Delhi by flight. Soni’s family said that 25-year-old Tanya loved poetry very much. She also used to participate enthusiastically in the events held at her college but since childhood, her dream was to become an IAS.
One of her cousins said that she was the most intelligent among us. She loved everything, from poetry to dancing. Tanya Soni was originally from Aurangabad, Bihar, but her father is working in Telangana, and she was studying in Delhi. After graduating in Political Science, she was preparing for UPSC.
Earlier in the day, Delhi Education Minister Atishi said that the AAP-led government would bring a new law to regulate coaching centres. She also said that action has been taken against the coaching centres operating libraries and classes in basements.
