Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 75 runs from 35 balls in the third T20I against Bangladesh, which was played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday (October 12). Surya was involved in a 173-run partnership for the second wicket with Sanju Samson (111) that helped India post a total of 297 runs on the board for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.

During his 75-run knock in the third T20I, Surya crossed the 2500 run mark in T20Is, and it helped him become the third fastest batter in the world after Babar Azam and Virat Kohli to score 2500 runs. Former Pakistan captain Babar crossed the 2500-run mark in his 67th match, whereas Kohli needed 73 matches to reach the milestone. On the other hand, the third T20I between India and Bangladesh on Saturday was Surya’s 74th match in the shortest format of the game.

Apart from that, Surya has also moved to joint No. 3 position in the list of batters with the most sixes in T20Is. He has 144 sixes to his name in 74 T20Is. West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran has also scored 144 sixes so far.
