Mkts fail to recover, end in red
The markets ended the day in red for the fourth consecutive session on account of selling pressure in scrips.

New Delhi: The market on Thursday opened in red and failed to gain momentum throughout the day.

The markets ended the day in red for the fourth consecutive session on account of selling pressure in scrips across sector.

However, providing support at lower level were IT stocks ahead of the Infosys results to be announced on Friday.

Other than IT index all other BSE indices ended in red. Selling pressure was seen in metal, banking, FMCG and oil stocks.

The market breadth was in favour of the declines. The midcap index ended flat outperforming the frontline

Sensex closed down 69.43 points or 0.53 per cent at 13113.81, and the Nifty closed down 32.80 points or 0.85 per cent at 3829.85.

About 1060 shares have advanced, 1444 shares declined, and 180 shares are unchanged.
