Indian Airlines will start a satellite television on its Airbus fleet to provide entertainment to travellers.

New Delhi: Don't want to travel because you're missing your favourite soap? Well, now you can get your saas bahu saga as in-flight entertainment.

Kingfisher was the first domestic airline to provide in-flight entertainment systems onboard.

Now public carrier Indian Airlines wants to follow with nothing but the latest - its fitting satellite television on its new Airbus fleet.

So you needn't miss your favourite soaps or news programmes or cricket while travelling.

Says Vishwapati Trivedi, CMD, Indian Airlines, "We only want our planes to have the latest."

The service is likely to be available on long haul flights in the first phase.

The total cost would be around 250 crore rupees.

Indian Airlines is evaluating three companies for the service - Rockwell Collins, Thallis and Panasonic.

What's your reaction?
