Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor: Construction Of 3 Crucial Bridges Over Ghazipur Drain Completed
The newly constructed bridges will connect the Anand Vihar Rapid Rail Station to the main road.

The Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System is a partially operational 82.15 km high-speed rail connecting the National Capital Region (NCR) cities of Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut. The Delhi section of RRTS is 14 km long. The construction of the Rapid Rail has picked up pace in the Delhi section. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has completed the construction of three bridges over the Ghazipur drain at the Anand Vihar RRTS station. The officials have revealed that Anand Vihar RRTS station is now connected to the Anand Vihar Metro station, serving direct access to multiple transport modes to the passengers.

The construction of the three essential bridges for entry into the station has been completed, said the officials of NCRTC. The Anand Vihar RRTS station connects to the Blue and Pink lines of Anand Vihar Metro Station at the concourse level. For easy transit, escalators and lifts have been installed by NCRTC.

The newly constructed bridges over the Ghazipur Drain will connect the station to the main road. As per PTI, all the bridges serve specific purposes. One of these is for entry of vehicles while another is meant for exit. The third is for pedestrians. The dimensions of the bridges are 10 metres wide, 28 metres long, 13 metres wide, 28 metres long, 5 metres wide, and 25 metres long, respectively.

As for the other RRTS stations, the construction of the viaduct for the elevated portion has been completed till Sarai Kale Khan station. The work of laying tracks and overhead electrification is currently under process. There will be four stations of Rapid Rail in New Delhi including Anand Vihar, New Ashok Nagar, Sarai Kale Khan and Jangpura. Rapid Rail has also started running between Sahibabad-Modi Nagar, the first section of the RRTS corridor.

Construction work has picked up pace at Sarai Kale Khan station in Delhi. Roofing and finishing work is going on. Four tracks and six platforms have been built at Sarai Kale Khan station. The work at New Ashok Nagar railway station is almost complete. The roof of this station has been installed and the railway line has also been laid. Foot-over bridges are also being built to connect the New Ashok Nagar station of Rapid Rail to the metro station and nearby areas like Chilla village and Mayur Vihar extension.
