The Karnataka Road Development Corporation Limited (KRDCL) announced that the KR Puram up-ramp of the Hebbal flyover will be closed from May 14.
This development has come when there have already been construction activities going on the Hebbal flyover by the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA). No vehicular movement would be possible on the ramp.
It is expected that this closure will affect daily commuters who use the KR Puram ramp to reach Bengaluru city (Mekhri Circle). Earlier, all vehicles except two-wheelers were prohibited from using the ramp and flyover. But now, the new announcement encompasses all vehicles.

The Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued a detailed warning to commuters about the construction work going on the flyover, which will cause disruption to the traffic movement from KR Puram to the city. The restrictions started on May 14 and will continue until the construction work is completed. The construction work includes the dismantling of the two existing ramps of the KR Puram.
As a result, the ramp will be disconnected from the flyover. Some alternative routes have been suggested by the Bengaluru Traffic Police to ease the movement of commuters.
Outer Ring Road (Nagavara): For commuters from Nagavara (ORR) who will be travelling towards the city via Mekhri Circle, they can use the Hebbal Circle beneath the flyover, take a right turn towards Kodigehalli, make a U-turn to access the service road, and then join the loop towards the city. This is an alternate way to avoid the closed road and reach the city.
KR Puram, Nagavara: Commuters travelling from KR Puram to the city can take an alternate route: they can take the IOC-Mukunda Theatre Road, then the Lingarajapuram Flyover route, and finally the Nagavara-Tannery Road to reach the city.
KR Puram to Yashawanthapura: For people coming from KR Puram towards Yashawanthapura, they are requested to take the straight below the Hebbal flyover towards BEL Circle. After that, they have to take a left turn at BEL Circle to reach the Sadashivanagar Police Station junction, then take a right turn towards IISc, and then move towards Yashawanthapura.
Hegdenagar-Thanisandra: People coming from Hegdenagar-Thanisandra can use the GKVK-Jakkur road to reach the city.
