Watch: This Couple’s Mid-Air Dining Experience Is Not For The Faint-Hearted

Having dinner while getting a view of lush mountains sounds like a romantic plan. Now, a video is going viral that shows a couple sitting across each other at a dinner table, except that their dinner table is attached to a cable rope. This table is slowly pushed away from the ground till it is suspended in the air. Below them is a deep mountain valley. The couple was dressed up to the nines for this special occasion, the woman in a white dress and the man in a black suit. It appears this set-up was done for a photo shoot.

When the seated couple is pushed over the valley, the man tries to balance themselves by holding on to the cable rope. The woman holds the table on both ends with her hands spread out as if preventing it from tilting to either side. It is unclear where this video was taken. In the background, a woman shouts in Russian, as if she is giving them instructions or words of encouragement. A popular Instagram account shared this undated video on Instagram on March 12. This clip has gathered over 15 lakh likes. The video was simply captioned, “Cena romántica”, which translates to “Romantic dinner”.

In the comments, many people pointed out the lack of safety precautions towards the duo that was sitting at the mid-air suspended table. Making this point an Instagram user wrote, “They should at least put a belt on or something in case they fall. At least through the video they don’t even have that.” Another person wrote, “The person helping them get going isn’t even wearing a safety harness or belt or anything! WTH?!”

Many people also opined that going to these lengths to get a good picture is not worth it. Expressing this sentiment, an Instagram user wrote, “Are these people crazy, what if the tables and chairs flip over?!.” Some people took a sarcastic approach towards the video. One person wrote, “and they both “fell in love”….. then eventually fell off the ground.” Someone jokingly asked, “How does the wait staff refill their water?”
