Watch: Mark Zuckerberg Is 'Coming Back Stronger Than Ever' After Knee Surgery
A few months back, Mark Zuckerberg underwent surgery for a knee injury caused by mixed martial arts training.

Mark Zuckerberg had undergone surgery for a knee injury caused by mixed martial arts training. The Meta CEO and tech mogul revealed that he had torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in an Instagram post on November 4. Zuckerberg received the injury while sparring as part of his preparation for an MMA fight scheduled for early 2024 which was ultimately “delayed a bit.” Nine months have passed since Zuckerberg underwent ACL surgery, and he has now shared a video of his recovery journey on Instagram.

Sharing the video, Mark Zuckerberg wrote, “Officially 9 months since ACL surgery. LFG.”

In the footage, he is shown warming up in November 2023 and resting on a hospital bed following an injury. He may be seen using crutches to walk, exercising and eventually giving up the use of walking aids. The footage captures his rigorous training regimen throughout these months and his eventual return to the MMA arena in August 2024.

A user commented in all caps, “HE’S GOT NO QUIT.”

Another user humorously stated, “Bro just inspired me to go for a walk (to the mailbox)”.

An individual congratulated him saying, “Congrats on the full recovery, Mark!”

“Coming back stronger than ever,” read a comment.

According to Fortune, Zuckerberg began practising martial arts in 2020 and won gold and silver medals in his first Brazilian jujitsu tournament in May 2023.

The tech billionaire started practising Brazilian jujitsu amid the pandemic and took part in the Memorial Day Murph Challenge, which honours a Navy SEAL who died in service in Afghanistan.

The challenge included exercises like running a mile and performing 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats and a 20-pound weighted vest.

Elon Musk challenged Zuckerberg to a cage fight in June 2023, via his social media network X (formerly Twitter). A few hours later, Zuckerberg replied, “Send me the location,” on his Instagram social media page.

Musk stated that he was physically getting ready for what he called a “civilised form of war” in an August post on X.

He went on to say that he could need surgery and that he was getting an MRI on his upper back and neck. Zuckerberg finally mentioned that “it’s time to move on” and that “Elon isn’t serious” after much back and forth but no physical altercation.
