As the adorable video proceeds, a caretaker meticulously cleans the hippo’s teeth using a sponge-like brush while spraying water gently from a pipe. What grabbed the attention of social media users even more was the hippo’s surprisingly calm behaviour. The viewers were also quick to notice another hippopotamus waiting patiently for his turn.

A hippo can grow up to 40 teeth, and the incisor and canine teeth are extremely large and grow continuously as they are worn away, reported Britannica. “Hippos getting their teeth cleaned,” the caption read.
