New York Real Estate Tycoon Brandon Miller, Who Died By Suicide, Was In Rs 280 Crore Debt
He reportedly owed the largest sum of money that was unsecured and amounted to a $11.3 million (almost Rs 95 crore) loan from the Chicago-based BMO Bank.

In 2019, Brandon Miller, a renowned real estate entrepreneur in New York, celebrated his tenth wedding anniversary in the backyard of his 5,500-square-foot Hamptons vacation house. He was married to Candice Miller, an influencer and operator of the popular lifestyle blog Mama and Tata. Their Midsummer Night’s Dream party was an incredible public spectacle of their idyllic life and marriage. Last month, when Miller died by suicide, he was in a debt of over $34 million (Rs 284.93 crore) and had only $8,000 (Rs 6 lakh) in his savings account.

According to The Real Deal, $11.5 million (over Rs 96 crore) of the debt was related to mortgages on his Hamptons mansion, based on a bond petition filed in surrogate’s court by Candice. According to reports, the Water Mill estate listed for $15.5 million (almost Rs 130 crores) this month.

Brandon had four mortgages on the property. Titan Capital, who gave him $800,000 (more than Rs 6 crore) as a bridge loan, took Candice to court for nonpayment of the mortgage last month, The Real Deal reported citing his legal documents.

Brandon had another $2 million (over Rs 16 crore) to pay Titan on the property and also loans from UBS and Stevens Financial Group.

He reportedly owed the largest sum of money that was unsecured and amounted to a $11.3 million (almost Rs 95 crore) loan from the Chicago-based BMO Bank.

The deceased left an extra $6.1 million (over 51 crore) in unsecured debt to Donald Jaffe who has been the financier to the developer and his father, Michael Miller on different projects before taking legal proceedings against Miller challenging him to pay the remaining balance in the business loan made. Meanwhile, Jaffe is still attempting to recover his losses.

Other unpaid expenses include more than $300,000 (over Rs 2.5 crore) to American Express and $266,000 (over Rs 2 crore) to Funding Club, a Brooklyn-based cash advance financing firm.

There was reportedly resentment and jealousy directed at Candice since she appeared to live a perfect life.

She also established close friendships with other fellow celebrities including Ashley Olsen, Mary Kate, stylist Rachel Zoe, Ivanka Trump and Something Navy fashion blogger Arielle Charnas.

However, the family was actually over-stretched with debt and were way beyond their capabilities to sustain that kind of lifestyle.

Miller was found lying unconscious in his car inside the family’s garage as reported by The New York Post. He was rushed to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, and he breathed his last a few days later.

Recently, Page Six has found out that Candace has been left to rebuild her life and she has moved to Miami with two young daughters.
