New Delhi: Asus has launched its much-awaited ZenWatch 2 Android Wear smartwatch in India. The ZenWatch 2 is available in two sizes – with a 1.45-inch display (WI502Q) and a 1.63-inch one (WI501Q). The former is priced at Rs 11,999, while the latter costs Rs 14,999.
The ZenWatch 2 is available on Flipkart and will be sold at Asus exclusive stores at a later date.
The ZenWatch 2 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with a 512MB RAM and 4 GB memory. Available in Silver and Gunmetal colours for WI501Q, only Silver for W1502Q, the watches come in two strap variants - Rubber and Leather.
The new smartwatch is the successor to the original ZenWatch, and is said to offer a more refined design and improved user interface. It features a metal watch crown and a magnetic charger that, as the company says, features effortless attachment and improved battery recharge times. Its battery is said to provide up to 2-day usage and 3-day stand-by time.
The Fonehelper feature in the watch lets users control phone settings like WiFi, volume and hotspot from the watch itelf.
It functions both as a personal activity and fitness manager and lets you view incoming calls, messages, notifications, and other important information, without having to check the phone. It also includes an enhanced Remote Camera - a feature that turns the smartwatch's display into a synced smartphone's camera viewfinder remotely right on the wrist and lets you capture pictures from creative angles where the viewfinder would be difficult to see, like a concert.
The new ZenWatch has an IP67 water-resistance rating, which makes it safe even in the shower or during exercise. It further has a redesigned Wellness app that helps in better monitoring of physical activities.
Asus had unveiled unveiled the ZenWatch 2 at the Computex event last year.
