YouTube is used by billions which includes kids and teens who definitely need better guidance to track their activities and the content that they watch. The platform is finally enabling parents with the ability to track their history, comments on YouTube by linking to their teen kids account.
“Soon, parents and teens will be able to link their YouTube accounts in our new Family Center hub. In Family Center, parents can see shared insights into their teens’ channel activity on YouTube including the number of uploads, subscriptions and comments,” YouTube mentions in its post here.
The platform will also alert the parents when their teen uploads a video, starts a livestream and other cases. These features are available in the YouTube Family Center, where you can invite your kids to allow them to link their account to yours.

– Open YouTube on your device
– Click on the photo icon at the bottom right
– Tap on Settings on the top right and go to Family Center
– Now click on Invite teen
– YouTube creates a QR code to link the account
– Get your kid to accept the invite
– Now you can monitor all their activities on the platform
YouTube says its focus on keeping kids and teens safe on the platform continues to evolve with the changing trends and patterns of the content available and consumed by the segment. The company says its development in this area is guided by independent experts belonging from academic, non-profit and clinical backgrounds.
The platform is also facing intense regulatory pressure over its measures for kids in some countries but it needs better content moderation and policies to safeguard the community and keep them away from bad actors.
