PUBG Mobile Ban by High Court of Maharashtra is Fake News

According to a new viral message on social media, the popular mobile application game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) has been banned by the “High Court of Maharashtra.” The government notice appears to be coming from Maharashtra High Court with the subject "Alliance on ban of game PUBG." In that letter, dated Saturday, December 22, PUBG Mobile is said to be banned for "creating a lot of nuisance and irrespective activities and many students spoiling their own lives…"

There are a lot of grammatical mistakes, and even the format does not match with the previous official circulars of the Indian judiciary system. But the biggest giveaway is that the order is from the ‘High Court of Maharashtra’. Besides that the order has been signed by K. Srinivasulu who has signed as a ‘prejudge’ which does not exist in the Indian Judicial system. As the roaring success of PUBG Mobile continues to rise in India, concerns regarding the game's effect on students are persistent. Recently Vellore Institute of technology banned the PUBG Mobile gameplay in the hostel and college premises.

Additionally, release of Vikendi snow map has imposed an Anti-Cheat and Reporting feature. Players on PUBG have been experiencing confrontations with cheaters even before the game was officially launched in its Early Access period. The latest incident of the software's usage has resulted in banning 30,000 players on PUBG, including some of the well-known players of the game on the global platform. For those who in the unknown, the Radar Hack cheat helps the players get an unprecedented advantage over other players. The new wave of ban follows the release of the new Vikendi map using its anti-cheat algorithm called BattlEye.
