New Delhi: Apple showed the exit door to repair firm iFixit’s app after the company was found violating the terms and conditions following a teardown of the Apple TV and Siri Remote.

iFixit announced that its app on the Apple App Store was removed after it tore down the Apple TV.

The company deliberately violated the terms as it admits in its blog that it “weighed the risks, blithely tossed those risks over our shoulder, and tore down the Apple TV anyway.”

Following the teardown, the company received an email from Apple about the violation of terms and that the offending developer account had been banned from the store. Apple said that the firm’s “actions may hinder the performance or intended use of the App Store, B2B Program, or the Program.”

The iFixit app was also tied to the account and hence, it was taken down as well.

However, iFixit is not planning on rewriting its app anytime soon. Instead it is now driving its focus on strengthening its mobile site, claiming that the app was anyways outdated and would require substantial rewrite of code.
