Gionee has launched its next generation M devices in China, the M6 and M6 Plus. Both the devices will also be launching in India soon.
The Gionee M6 and M6 Plus are touted as the safest android smartphones in the world when it comes to user privacy. The Gionee M6 and M6 Plus will offer extra hardware security over the usual fingerprint sensor.
The M6 is the first smartphone to secure a consumer’s privacy with integrated security measures. For the Chinese version, an encrypted chip will be used to secure a user's personal data on the device.
This encryption technology chip will not be available on the overseas version (India) of the M6 as it will come equipped with a front fingerprint sensor only.
“For 14 years, Gionee has been dedicated to smartphone manufacture. We value two things: technological innovation and consumer benefits. With these goals in mind, we were dedicating to transforming the smartphone into a ‘smile phone’ with our independent R&D capabilities. The Gionee M6 is the product of this goal and has outstanding performance via the breakthrough software and hardware which will make every consumer smile from their heart,” said Mr. Lu.
Like the Gionee Marathon M5, the successor M6 is packed with a typical 5000mAh battery and the M6 Plus comes with a 6020 mAh battery capacity. Additionally, 9V2A dual charge chips allow for charging that is faster.
The Gionee’s R&D team has also worked on a smart system power consumption model on the phones' software. The system is composed of sensors and measurements which monitor and control the operations and power consumption. Measures such as app freezing and background cleaning through force shutdown of unnecessary apps, are there to optimize the performance under the minimum power usage.
The Gionee M6 sports a unibody aluminium design along with the 2.5D glass. It features a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display and comes powered by a MediaTek MT6755 CPU coupled with 4GB RAM.
Both the phones come with 64GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB, 13 megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX 258 sensor and an 8 megapixel selfie camera. They also feature the new USB Type-C connector for charging and output. Another distinguishing factor between the two phones is that the M6 features the standard 3.5mm headphone jack but the M6 Plus lacks it.
The M6 Plus, on the other hand, features a 5.7-inch full HD display and comes with 4GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage.
Its operating system, Amigo 3.2 is based on Android 6.0 and will come pre-installed on the handset.
The phone is available in Gold and Latte Gold colour in China and will be coming to India by November 2016 at an expected price tag of Rs 25,990 for the M6 and Rs 27,990 for the M6 Plus.
