Amazon.in announced today that it has invested in 9 dedicated Fulfilment Centres (FCs) and 33 Delivery Stations exclusively for Furniture and Large Appliances. The new FCs have been opened in 9 states to cater to the growing demand for Large Appliances and Furniture across the country. These include Karnataka, Haryana, Telangana, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
With this launch, Amazon.in has 34 FCs across 10 states in India, covering a total area of over 3 million square feet with a storage capacity close to 10 million cubic feet.
In preparation for heightened demand this summer, Amazon.in has also increased its selection by over 3,000 products in the Large Appliances category consisting of Air Conditioners, Air Coolers, Refrigerators, Washing Machines and TVs. Apart from offering cash on delivery and buyback options, as additional services the online marketplace will provide installation services for customers, across top 6 cities (Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune).
Through this Fulfilment Centre Amazon.in aims to provide a delightful customer experience through Fulfilment By Amazon (FBA). When using FBA, sellers across India send their products to Amazon’s FCs and once an order is placed, Amazon picks, packs and ships the order to the customer, provides customer service and manages returns on behalf of the sellers.
