UP government recommends CBI probe into Lucknow rape-murder
Family of the victim have been on a hunger strike demanding a CBI probe into the case.

Lucknow: Days after a 32-year-old woman was brutally raped and murdered in Mohanlalganj area of UP's capital city Lucknow, the Akhilesh Yadav government on Monday recommended investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation,

The victim's family have been on a hunger strike demanding a CBI probe into the case.

"We are here to protest because we do not trust the UP police, they are hiding something," said the victim's protesting mother-in-law.

The state orders comes a day after the forensic report contradicted the police claims. The police had ruled out gangrape saying that the woman died of multiple injuries on her body.

However, the forensic report on Sunday said that multiple DNA samples have been found from the victim's nails which implies that more than one person was involved in the crime.

The incident had come to light on July 17 when the nude body of the woman was spotted near a primary school in Balsingh Khera village of Mohanlalganj tehsil by a watchman.
