Ticket seekers protest continues outside state BJP office

Jaipur: Protests by disgruntled candidates over ticket distribution continued on the second day at BJP's Jaipur headquarters. The party had to resort to closing the main gates to keep the protestors opposing tickets to former BJP President Arun Chaturvedi and party general secretary Satish Poonia out.

Protestors also opposed tickets given by the BJP on the seats of Jhotwara in Jaipur and Alwar amidst reports of protests from other districts including Jodhpur and Ajmer.

While the BJP is yet to announce names on 24 remaining seats where there's tricky balancing to be done with a sword of rebels dangling over it. In proportion with the number of candidates announced the Congress which has tread carefully with releasing only 105 out of 200 names in two lists has not faced protests of this scale yet.

The BJP has so far announced 176 candidates in the 200 seat Rajasthan Assembly.
