Teacher arrested for acting proxy to polling officer

Bangalore: A teacher, who was acting as a proxy for a polling officer, was arrested in Ramanagara district, police said on Thursday.

“Ramu, who was acting as a proxy for polling officer Ramappa, a teacher, was arrested on Wednesday”, Superintendent of Police (Ramanagara), S B Disnalli said here.

A case has been registered and the accused has been remanded to judicial custody, he said.

Ramanagara is part of Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha constituency.
