NDA, UPA don't want me as PM: Mayawati
UP Chief Minister alleges two top parties ganging up against her.

New Delhi: BSP chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Tuesday claimed the UPA and the NDA "conspired" to prevent her from becoming the Prime Minister.

"The UPA's victory is not due to their policies but a well thought-out political conspiracy by both the NDA and the UPA to check the BSP and prevent the daughter of a Dalit from becoming the Prime Minister of the country," she said after the Government won the trust vote in the Lok Sabha.

"Both feared BSP and prevented me from becoming the prime minister. Had the NDA not helped the ruling coalition, it would not have been saved on the floor of the House," said Mayawati.

She alleged that senior BJP leader L K Advani, in a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, had expressed concern that support for the two main parties because "casteist and regional" parties were getting powerful.

"Both are united and can go to any extent to prevent the march of BSP," she said. Referring to the cash being shown in the Lok Sabha, she alleged the UPA of horse trading and said: "This will go as a black day for Indian democracy."
