The Union Agriculture Minister would instead contest Rajya Sabha elections.
Mumbai: Days after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced his retirement, UPA Minister Sharad Pawar has decided not to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Nationalist Congress party leader Praful Patel made the announcement on Sunday stating that the party chief would instead contest Rajya Sabha elections.
Elections to the Upper House are reportedly scheduled for March.
Sharad Pawar holds the Ministry of Agriculture in the Union Cabinet.
