Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Nara Lokesh attacked Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his government at a public rally in Palasa in the Srikakulam district on Sunday.
Lokesh accused Reddy of turning north Andhra into a “ganja” hub, privatizing Visakhapatnam’s steel plant, cancelling welfare schemes, and failing to complete pending projects. He also criticized the local MLA and minister Seediri Appalaraju for not doing any work to develop the Palasa constituency.
Lokesh said that TDP, in alliance with Jana Sena, would come back to power in the next elections and fulfil the people’s aspirations. He promised to provide 20 lakh jobs, Rs 3,000 unemployment allowance, Rs 15,000 to every student, Rs 20,000 to every farmer, and three free cylinders to every household per year.
He also vowed to revive the sugar factories, acquire the steel plant, and conduct DSC exams as soon as TDP came to power.
He said that Jagan was playing with the sentiments of the people by proposing three capitals and neglecting Visakhapatnam.
The TDP leader praised the sacrifices of the martyrs, who fought for the rights of the Andhra people and the glory of the Srikakulam district. He said he had no sisters or brothers, but NTR gave him 60 lakh sisters and brothers-in-law.
He said that North Andhra was like a mother to him and he would always serve her with love and gratitude. He appealed to the people to vote for TDP and Jana Sena candidates and make N Chandrababu Naidu the chief minister again.
Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh will take place in April-May this year.
