Rail Minister Mallikarjun Kharge could not present the entire budget in Lok Sabha as anti-Telangana protests rocked the House.

New Delhi: Disruption of the last Rail Budget of UPA II has disappointed all the Congress leaders including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Dr Singh expressed anguish over the repeated disruptions during Railway Minister's speech saying, "My heart bleeds to see what is happening in the House. It is sad for democracy after all the appeals of calm."

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath said that Wednesday's scenes in Lok Sabha marked a new low in the history of Parliament. He also hit back at the Opposition leaders who claim that it was the government's responsibility to check smooth functioning of the Parliament. "It is not duty of government to run the House, it is duty of the Speaker and the members. It is a new low in the history of Parliament. House belongs to every member. It is very unfortunate," he said.

Not just the Congress but leaders of its erstwhile ally Trinamool Congress too expressed their disappointment. "Sad to see what is happening inside the Parliament," said former Railway Minister and TMC leader, Dinesh Trivedi.

Union Minister Rajeev Shukla agrees that there is rage among the people of Andhra Pradesh. "It is an ongoing situation. The Andhra people are agitated. But the budget has been put forward, and is a commendable budget. The Andhra situation has to be resolved through elaborate discussions," he said on the unruly scenes in both the Houses.

Union HRD Minister and Lok Sabha MP from Andhra Pradesh, Pallam Raju reacted to the disruptions by anti-Telangana MPs during the presentation of Rail Budget, saying, "People are aggrieved, they expect us, the representatives to protest on their behalf. What happened in Parliament is unfortunate but a sense of injustice prevails."
