New Delhi:After the resignations of Union Ministers Jairam Ramesh and Oscar Fernandes from the Cabinet there is a flow of new wave to concentrate more on work,followed by members of Boards and Commissions too are offering to resign and work for the party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Member of the Minorities Commission Harcharan Singh Josh has offered to resign from his post to help the party in Delhi for the elections.
Josh, the Sikh face of the party in the national capital,has been a Secretary of the AICC for over five years and also served in various capacities of the DPCC over the years.
"I have offered to resign to concentrate on party work. Party is more important than any official post or designation at this point of time," he said.
As a Member of the Commission, Singh has been instrumental in bringing out fact finding reports on violence against the minorities in several parts of the country,including Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and other states.
With the announcement of the poll schedule and increase in the political temperature of the country, Congress sources said, that there are more such resignations on the cards.
"These are crucial months. It is important for the party to remain fighting fit," a party source said.
There are seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, six of which have sitting Congress MPs.
