New Delhi: Amid the stalemate over formation of government in Jammu and Kashmir, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Tuesday. Mehbooba termed the meeting as "very positive".

"When you meet the PM, then there is more clarity on solution to the problems of the people…it was a very positive and good meeting," she said.

The PDP chief further conceded that there had been a stalemate between her People’s Democratic Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over government formation in the state.

"There was stalemate in last couple of days…have called a legislative party meeting on Thursday," said Mehbooba, adding, "We will discuss how to go forward."

Meanwhile, sources said that the Prime Minister reiterated BJP's stand that agenda of governance needs to be followed for alliance in J&K. He, however, gave an assurance that all issues will be catered to and deliberated upon.

According to sources, Central government will provide all help needed to develop the state. The Prime Minister also told Mehbooba that focus should be given to get a good government in J&K for the people of Kashmir.
