New Delhi: Both the Houses were adjourned on Thursday morning as the Quattrocchi issue had the Opposition up in arms.
The NDA wants a statement from the Prime Minister on the Quattrocchi issue. They allege a cover-up by the Government and say they are taking serious note of the Government's inaction.
NDA leader Sushma Swaraj said, "The Prime Minister has created a contempt of House by chosing to speak before the media rather than the House."
Ottavio Quattrochi is the key accused in the Rs 64 crore Bofors pay off case. He was detained by Argentinian authorities on February 6 after an Interpol red corner notice.
However, the news of his detention was made public in India only on February 23. A two-member CBI team is now in Argentina to apply for Quattrocchi's extradition. But Argentinian authorities say it would take a minimum 15 days to process India's request.
