Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Congress has settled the bill of a contractor who has sent a legal notice to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and some other Congress leaders for non payment of dues.
According to Congress leaders the contractor of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Developmental Studies (RGIDS), Heather Constructions, has been paid his long pending dues and the matter has been settled out of court.
A cheque of Rs. 2.8 crore has been given to Heather Constructions managing director Rajeev . The court has also been informed of the settlement.
Rajeev had sent the notice to Sonia, former KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, PCC president V M Sudheeran and former chief minister Oommen Chandy.
Mohammed, the former KPCC general secretary and currently RGIDS director, said that dragging Sonia into this case had a mala fide intention.
He claimed that some vested interests were behind the notice. According to local party leaders the Congress president is not an office bearer of the society and she is in no way connected to the institution.
