3. Karanpur is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Rajasthan and is part of Ganganagar (SC) Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Karanpur falls in Ganganagar district and North region of Rajasthan. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,21,103 voters in the seat, which includes 1,15,901 male voters, and 1,05,202 female voters. In the 2018 Rajasthan elections, Karanpur recorded a voter turnout of 83.98%. In 2013 the turnout was 87.32%, and in 2008 it was 80%.
In 2013, Surender Pal Singh of BJP won the seat by a margin of 3,853 votes (2.29%). Surender Pal Singh secured 41.71% of the total votes polled.
IND won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 6,095 votes (4.29%), registering 32.38% of the total votes polled.
