Moradabad: Cricketer-turned-politician Mohammad Azharuddin declared assets worth Rs 1.58 crore of his own and spouse in the affidavits submitted along with his nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday.
The ex-Indian skipper, who is contesting the election from Moradabad Lok Sabha seat as a Congress candidate for the very first time, has two flats, one at Hyderabad worth over Rs 30 lakhs and another at Mumbai worth Rs 90 lakhs.
He also owns two luxury vehicles, Honda Accord and an Totoya Innova.
Azharuddin has Rs 3.60 lakhs cash in hand, while have shares worth Rs 7 lakhs and Life Insurance of Rs 10 lakhs. He also has over Rs 2 lakhs in the saving account in the banks.
The ex-cricketer's wife and cinestar Sangita also has Rs 3.22 lakhs cash in hand, besides Rs 69,707 in banks and gold worth Rs 3.42 lakhs.
The Congress candidate has paid Rs 3,60,789 as Income Tax in 2008-09, but was yet to clear the loan amount of Rs 5,65,160.
