New Delhi: In a significant development, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley met Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah soon after he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the row brewing around former Indian Premier League (IPL) chief Lalit Modi. The meeting lasted for approximately 40 minutes.
The meeting was possibly held to find the way forward in the Lalit Modi controversy that has engulfed the party for quite some time now.
Jaitley on Thursday had backed BJP ministers and denied any wrong doing on the part of any party member.
On Friday, too, the BJP went up in arms against Congress over Lalit Modi's tweet about Priyanka Gandhi and Robert Vadra meeting him.
The government is looking for a face saver in order to avoid buckling under the oppositions' demands.
