The TMC chief said that it is a very serious issue and is not wise to discuss it outside.
Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday described the leak of Army chief Gen VK Singh's letter to the Prime Minister as "a very serious issue".
"It is a very serious issue and I think it is not wise to discuss it outside," Banerjee said at a press conference in Kolkata.
"We are proud of our army and we respect it," she said. Banerjee said the Defence Minister was looking into the matter and would sort it out.
Referring to Trinamool Congress MP Ambika Banerjee's letter to the Prime minister and the Defence Minister about defence purchases, she said as an individual it was his prerogative to do so.
She said the Centre should look into his demand and an inquiry was needed.
