Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the latter wished him a speedy recovery following an attack on his convoy during an election campaign in Vijayawada on Saturday.

Stones were hurled at Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bus during the rally which led him and another person to sustain injuries. The attack injured Reddy on his left eyebrow.

The chief minister was administered first aid inside the bus immediately by a doctor.

After the reports of an attack on the Andhra CM hit the headlines, politicians reacted to the incident and wished Reddy a speedy recovery.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to his X account and wished for the Chief Minister’s speedy recovery and good health.

“I pray for the speedy recovery and good health of Andhra Pradesh CM @ysjagan Garu,” PM Modi wrote in his X post.

Jagan Mohan Reddy commented on the prime minister’s post thanking him for his wishes. “Thank you @narendramodi garu,” Reddy wrote.

TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu also condemned the attack on the chief minister. “I strongly condemn the attack on @ysjagan. I request the @ECISVEEP to initiate an impartial and unbiased inquiry into the incident and punish the responsible officials,” he wrote in an X post.

YSRCP leaders have alleged that the TDP was behind this “attack”.

YSRCP leader Hafeez Khan spoke on the attack on CM and said that TDP is behind this cowardly act because they cannot bear to see the massive response that CM Jagan is receiving during his ‘Memantha Siddham Yatra’ in their so-called bastions (Vijayawada).
