The CPI-M on the other hand declared that the party will contest 14 seats in UP Assembly and will support “any other party which can defeat BJP”.
The nomination process for the third phase of the UP assembly elections, scheduled for April 18, started on Friday with the issuance of notification.
This phase would cover 57 constituencies spread in 10 districts, including Bareilly, Moradabad and parts of Kanpur divisions.
Over 1.50 crore voters would exercise their franchise in this phase. There would be 9,400 polling centres and 14,730 polling stations for this phase.
The seven-phased assembly polls in the state would be held on April 7, 13, 18, 23, 28, May 3 and 8 for the 403-member House.
