As many as nine people sustained injuries after a lift in a Noida high-rise building in Sector 125 crashed from the 8th floor and plunged to the ground unexpectedly. The incident took place in Noida Sector 125’s River Side Tower on Friday.
All nine occupants of the lift were injured. Five people sustained injuries on their hands and legs. All injured were immediately rushed to hospital for treatment. Their condition is said to be stable.

Police have reached the site of the incident.
The nine people were identified as as Yashu Sharma, Abhishek Gupta, Abhishek Pandit, Rajat Sharma, Sagar, Shubham Bhardwaj, Abhijeet, Saurabh, Piyush Kumar, an NDTV report said..
Last month, four people were injured when a lift came crashing down from the ground floor to the second basement at a private hospital in Noida. According to a PTI report, all four injured were staff members of the Yatharth Hospital in Sector 110.
In September 2023, four workers died after a service lift had a free fall at an under-construction group housing society in Greater Noida West.
The incident took place at the under-construction site of Amrapali Dream Valley society around 8.30 am, Additional DCP (Central Noida) Rajeev Dixit was quoted by PTI as saying.
The police complaint was lodged under sections 304, 308, 337, 338, 287, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 7 of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2013 against the general managers of Girdhari Lal Constructions Harish Sharma, Rishabh Arora, Lovejeet, Vikas, Aditya Chandra and mechanical in-charge Rahul, site in-charge Devendra Sharma, Sunil, Shailendra and other officials.
