A man in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend over suspicion of having an affair with his wife. The crime occurred in the Surajpur area of Noida on Friday night.
According to a TOI report, the accused has been identified as Dinesh alias Bunty. He suspected his friend of having an affair with his wife and has been absconding since the night of the crime.
The deceased, 26, has been identified as Pawan. He was a resident of Santosh Nagar and worked as a truck driver. Pawan was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment, the publication reported.
A team from Surajpur police station rushed to the hospital after Pawan’s landlord made an emergency call at around 1 am on Saturday to inform about the crime. He was then taken to the hospital by his family with the help of the locals.
Meanwhile, the Noida police have deployed a special team to nab the accused after an FIR was lodged against Dinesh under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
According to the police, on Friday around 11 pm, Dinesh allegedly asked Pawan to meet him near a bridge in their locality.
“A heated argument broke out between the two, in the presence of the accused’s wife, which escalated and turned violent. Dinesh stabbed Pawan several times with a knife and fled the spot after his wife raised the alarm,” the publication quoted a senior officer as saying adding that the accused allegedly suspected his wife of infidelity and would often beat her up.
